A Message from Superintendents

Big News: Consolidation Approved!
We’re excited to share that the Carlton and Wrenshall
school boards have officially voted to consolidate into one
district! This decision follows months of planning and
input from our communities, and it means we can start
working together to create even better opportunities for
students.
We are so grateful to every member of our community
who shared input during the consolidation process. As
we look ahead, collaboration will be even more important
as we find ways to combine our resources for the good of
students and staff.
What’s Next?
Our application to consolidate has already been approved
by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE).
Next, the Carlton County auditor will make our district’s
boundaries and taxation changes in March. The new
district will officially be recognized as Carlton-Wrenshall
Independent School District #100 on July 1, 2026, and the
first day of school will be September 8, 2026.
Over the coming months, specialized committees made
up of board members, staff, and residents will dig into the
details — things like building use, grade configurations,
transportation, and curriculum. These committees will
determine how to both use our combined resources to
expand our offerings for students and more efficiently
use funding. For example, our new district will use fewer
buildings and require only one superintendent, school
board, and administrative staff.
Please remember to check RaptorsUnited.org for the
latest news and updates regarding the consolidation
process. Thank you again for your support and
involvement. We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait
to build something great together!
