Hello South Terrace Elementary Community!

I am so thrilled to be your South Terrace Elementary Principal. Here’s some background on me: I grew up in Wrenshall, MN, where I was actively involved in sports throughout my school years such as volleyball, cross country running, track and field, and spending time on the ski hill. I pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, earning a BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. I furthered my studies with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Certificate in Literacy Instruction. My K-12 Principal license was earned at St. Mary’s University. Most recently, I spent thirteen years as an elementary teacher with Duluth Public Schools, where I also contributed to various leadership committees focused on instruction, assessment, curriculum, professional learning, and literacy mentorship.

My passion for education stems from a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives. I firmly believe that meaningful learning arises from strong, supportive relationships. By winning students’ hearts, their minds will follow. I am committed to nurturing, believing in, and advocating for every student's potential to achieve great things, always prioritizing their best interests in every decision I make.
