Carlton Public Schools encourages and applauds student participation in school athletics.  Students in the Carlton School District have the option to participate in the following sports:

  • Football
  • Volleyball
  • Cross Country
  • Basketball: Boys & Girls
  • Baseball
  • Softball
  • Track

Through a partnership with Cloquet and Esko, students can participate in the following Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (CEC) athletics:

  • Wrestling
  • Swimming
  • Hockey
  • Tennis: Boys & Girls
  • Golf: Boys & Girls
  • Soccer
  • Nordic Skiing
  • Alpine Skiing



Senior High Students: $90/Sport
Junior High Students: $60/Sport
A student who participates in three sports will only be charge for the first two sports they participate in.  Any student who qualifies for free or reduced lunch will be charges half of the regular fees to participate in a sport.
